Flip Side Charity Flashmob!Have you ever wanted to be a part of a flashmob? Here is your chance! Flip Side Stories and St. Vincent De Paul are partnering up to have the first Charity Flashmob and do it....Just Because. We need your help. Let me tell you a little bit about it, first.
|
Where:
Possible locations- Rochester Village Mall
Needed:
Hundreds of volunteers. Ok, a hundred or more. My philosophy is go big or go home! If everyone recruits 5 friends, imagine the
impact!
Gently used clothing to give away to St. Vincent De Paul. Enough to wear on your body and/or bags of clothes (even better).
They should be in bags that you wouldn't expect to be donation bags. Or wear as much as you can. The weirder it looks, the
better.
Portable music system to play a song with speakers.
A choir?
A t-shirt sponsor for approximately 200 t-shirts. I think St. Vincent De Paul can get t-shirts at a great cost.
Practice:
We will be singing along with "Give a Little Love." by Ziggy Marley. You'll find the song below. You'll find the words below as well.
In parenthesis are actions for the words. You don't HAVE to do the actions but it just adds to the fun. Kids will love the actions.
Before the Event:
We will meet at a secret location near the event location. There you will get your t-shirt to put on. Woman might find it easier to wear
a tanktop to the event so they can put the shirt on over it. Then you can put clothes over it that you are willing to donate to charity.
Pile on the clothes to look ridiculous or just enough to cover the t-shirt. If you want to give away pants, wear shorts underneath.
Starting Time:
We will have a specific time that will trigger the flashmob. At that time, everyone will begin taking off their clothes down to the t-shirt.
You can say things like, "It is so hot out here." "Did you see that SVDP booth? I'm going to donate my clothes." as you are
doing it or just do it quietly. Then, you will walk to the SVDP booth to leave your clothes. If you have bags of clothes, set those there
too. You should be singing while you are walking. Once you drop the clothes, move back away from the booth to let others in and
continue singing in the area. We will disperse near the end of the song and sing as we are disappearing into the crowd. You should
not talk to anyone. Just act normal as if nothing happened. You can leave at that time.
I suspect the actual event will be approximately 5 minutes. Add on another hour for pre-event set-up. Might be less. We'll know when
we get closer.
